Description: Promotional photo
Eddie Beard was a popular organist. He also served as the secretary-treasurer of the American Federation of Musicians Local 589 for 13 years. Beard recalled that the American Federation of Musicians Local 589 occupied a house on Garfield Avenue in Columbus. The upstairs of the building was leased out to Bill Stewart and a man named Foley where they ran the Downbeat Club. During the years of Beard's service with the union, Cleve Goode was president. Beard is pictured here in a promotional shot for Howdy Gorman's Theatrical Booking Agency that used to be located at 15th Avenue and High Street.
